Teeth-In-A-Day Dental Implants

New Teeth In One Day With Full Dental Implants

All-On-4® dental implant surgery may be the right option for you.

Introducing The All-On-4® Treatment Plan

Fairfax Oral Surgery utilizes the All-On-4® implant treatment, trademarked by Nobel Biocare. The treatment is usually for patients who have lost all or most of their teeth due to age, accident or disease.

The All-On-4® process usually involves the removal of terminal teeth, the placement of four to six implants, and the immediate fabrication and delivery of a fixed, or non-removable, set of replacement teeth.  This is all accomplished in one day, usually within four to six hours!

Who is a candidate?

People who are about to lose their teeth or are already wearing dentures in the upper or lower jaw are ideal candidates for the All-on-4® treatment.

The All-on-4® treatment is truly a team effort between your dentist, the surgeon, and a qualified laboratory technician.  Your dentist and the surgeon will work closely together to diagnose and plan for your comprehensive oral rehabilitation which can include a cone beam CT scan (CBCT) to more accurately and concisely plan the correct and ideal implant placement.  Your dentist will take models of your teeth and jaw and collaborate with the lab technician on the best alignment and position of the replacement teeth.

After this careful planning, your appointment will be scheduled and coordinated to have your dentist and the lab technician present during the surgery.  Once the implants are placed, your dentist and the lab technician will work together to fabricate and insert the fixed set of teeth.  This process is usually completed within two to three hours.

The All-On-4® System

The All-On-4® system reduces these costs in several ways. Expensive grafting into the sinuses or the lower jaw to increase bone volume can usually be avoided.  Your existing bone is maximized by placing the implants at angles and using the denser bone in the front of the jaw, and we only use four (4) posts per arch.

The replacement bridge of teeth looks, functions, and feels like natural teeth-  No more embarrassing loose dentures or speech changes.  Aesthetics and appearance are improved, increasing self-esteem.

What are the advantages?

Treatment time is greatly reduced- Traditional implant treatment for someone missing most or all of their teeth often involves the extraction of teeth, bone grafting into the sinuses for upper implants, or grafting into the lower jaw for lower implants.  These procedures add significant waiting time before implants can even be placed.  The All-On-4® treatment means the immediate placement of implants the same day of extractions.  It also means that an interim removable denture doesn’t have to be worn during the healing period, since the teeth are attached to the implants the same day as surgery.

Alternative Costs Of Treatment

The cost of treatment is usually less than traditional implant placement. A traditional 3-4 tooth bridge mount may cost you on average $8,500. Costs increase depending on the condition of your existing jaw bone and gums. A full set of upper or lower dentures supported by implants may cost from $25,000 to $95,000, with an average of $34,000*. Simply attempting to replace all 28 functional teeth with dental implants is impractical and not recommended.

Thank you and your team for making what I thought would be a horrible experience a pleasant surprise with my upper implants. I'll be back this year for work on the lower teeth. If I or my family ever needs any type of oral surgery, we know where to go. Thanks again.

I had my wisdom teeth taken out last week by Fairfax Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. The office was very professional, very personable and friendly. The procedure went really quickly and the pain/swelling I felt afterwards was minimal/minor compared to some of the horror stories I've heard of wisdom teeth extractions. The doctor walked me through the risks of having one of my impacted teeth removed and what the risks were of not having it taken out.The office also took care of billing my dental and medical insurances for the procedures and at the time of surgery, I just had to pay a deposit, which is MUCH appreciated from other practices that I had looked into where they wanted me to pay for the ENTIRE surgery and it was my responsibility to get my money from the insurance companies.

My husband and I both came to the Fairfax Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery office to get our wisdom teeth surgically extracted. The doctors were great to work with and answered any questions we had.

After having a wisdom tooth removed, I developed severe pain a few days later. I called your office, got an immediate appointment and was seen by a dentist within hours. The pain continued and three days later I called again. I was immediately given an appointment and was seen by the doctor even before the time of the appointment!I want to commend your practice since in so many cases a patient is all but ignored when any follow-up is required. Getting immediate appointments and being seen within hours is something you can be very proud of. This is what makes America's medical care the best in the world.

I had a wonderfully easy and comfortable experience with my procedure at Fairfax Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Theberge was my oral surgeon and helped me feel at ease with the whole anesthesia process (I was a little anxious). The staff was super friendly and helpful! They put a blanket on me and made sure I felt comfortable. The healing process was quick and I had no problems at all. Overall I highly recommend this office.

I had a tooth extracted this morning. I was really dreading it. The doctor and his assistant were just great. They made the whole experience so easy for me. While I hope not to have to do this again anytime soon, if I did, I would immediately call your office for an appointment.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What If An Implant Fails?

There is also a slim chance that an implant can fail after placement and loading.  If this occurs, that implant would be removed and replaced at no cost to you and the new implant would be incorporated into the temporary set of teeth.

What Is The Cost?

At your consultation appointments with both your dentist and the surgeon, the fees associated with this treatment will be reviewed with you in detail.  We will work with you and submit an insurance pre-determination of benefits to see if you have coverage for any of the procedures.

Is The Surgery Always One Day?

Is there a chance that I won’t get teeth attached the same day as the surgery?  There is a very slim chance you won’t get a fixed set of replacement teeth after your surgery.  The implants have to meet a certain criteria when placed.  If they do not feel solid upon insertion, then they cannot be immediately loaded. However, you will still be leaving the office with a removable denture in place.
