Dr. Jay Patel

Dr. Jay Patel is from Springfield, VA and completed his undergraduate studies at Virginia Commonwealth University where he majored in Biomedical Engineering. Dr. Patel obtained his doctorate from Boston University School of Dental Medicine where he was awarded a Health Professions Scholarship from the United States Army. In dental school, he served as an academic tutor and teaching assistant.

After dental school, Dr. Patel became an active-duty Army officer and completed a 1-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry where his passion for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery was solidified. He then completed 4-year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program at Womack Army Medical Center in Fort Bragg, NC. Dr. Patel trained extensively in facial reconstruction and dental implant therapy, anesthesia, orthognathic surgery, cosmetic surgery, and trauma.

He has a special interest in full arch rehabilitation and enjoys working closely with his prosthodontic and restorative colleagues. Dr. Patel places patient safety and comfort as his top priorities and strives to ensure a positive experience for all his patients at Fairfax Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.

Dr. Patel is an active member of the American Dental Education Association (ADEA); American Dental Association (ADA); American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID); Academy of General Dentistry (AGD); American Association of Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS).

Dr. Patel enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and family, enjoying participating in intramural sports and spending time in the outdoors.
