Dr. Yost Smith
Meet Dr. Yost Smith
Dr. Yost Smith grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and earned his undergraduate degree in Materials Science Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. During this time, he spent a year conducting materials science research at the Helmholz Center in Berlin, Germany. Dr. Smith subsequently earned a D.M.D. from the University of Illinois at Chicago, graduating top of his class. While in dental school, he founded the Dental Charity Foundation, a charitable organization which focuses on improving oral health literacy for at-risk children. He received the American College of Dentists Outstanding Student Leader Award, and was elected to membership in the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. Additionally, Dr. Smith was awarded the United States Air Force Health Professionals Scholarship. He entered into service in the United States Air Force, completing his training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at David Grant Medical Center.
His training encompassed the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with an emphasis on dental implants, wisdom teeth removal, in-office anesthesia, corrective jaw and cosmetic surgery, and the treatment of temporomandibular disorder.
Dr. Smith is currently an attending surgeon at Malcom Grow Medical Clinic, Andrews Air Force Base. His professional passions include oral and facial rehabilitation with dental implants, digital treatment planning, comfortable in-office anesthesia, and oral health literacy. His personal interests include skiing, whiskey, sporting clays, German language, and piano. He loves spending time with his wife and three children and is enjoying all that the Washington DC metropolitan area has to offer.
